Playing “The Beginner’s Guide”

Last night I played The Beginner’s Guide. Wow. What did I just experience? (Minor spoiler warning.) When I was younger, I didn’t know anyone who was interested in programming or computers.
I made programs to talk to myself and the computer listened to me.
I made lots of unfinished games. I didn’t really share them, I’d just make them and move on. I didn’t care about validation; I made them because I wanted to.
So when I played The Beginner’s Guide, about halfway through I had this weird realization: I’m Coda. I expected to be examining a stranger and instead examined myself.
