Video game intros are psychological priming for the game itself. To be specific, I mean the intro before the main menu. Examples: the intros for Portal 2, A Short Hike, Undertale, and Townscaper (sorry, I couldn’t find videos for all of them). Intros aren’t strictly part of the game, and they aren’t subject to the same judgment as the game. This gives them a special position to influence how the game is perceived.
