Film Development Research, #2

Today I continued researching how to develop film. Specifically, how to scan the negatives.

Scanning film, options:

  • Dedicated scanner, $250
  • DSLR scanning (macro lens, light table), $250+
  • Hacky methods, free

I read some reviews for the Epson v600 scanner and they ranged from positive to mixed. DPReview’s review especially makes the v600 seem like a mixed bag. Although, I still think I’d rather use a scanner, all drawbacks included, than a DSLR. Scanning with a DSLR sounds fiddly and like I’d have to set up everything each time I wanted to scan film.
