Today I’m thinking about art and gear. I wrote a much longer draft of this post and then I was like, “Ugh, why am I saying so much?” Here’s what I’m trying to say: This is my 500th post. I want to prove that it’s possible to make good digital art and run a blog with a toaster computer. Here’s the posts in which I used better computers:
- Summer ’22, Day 37
- Summer ’22, Day 78
- Procedural Stars in Blender
- TI Calculator Cable
- NES Controller Cleaning
- Anscoflex Camera Restoration, #1
- Anscoflex Camera Restoration, #2
- Learning to Drift in Forza
- Learning to Drift in Forza, #2
- Playing “Getting Over It”, #15
- Accidental optical illusion
- Keyboard Gradients
- Keyboard Gradients, Part 2
- Playing “Portal”
- Playing “Portal”, #2
- Playing “Portal”, #3
- Playing “Portal 2”
- Playing “Portal 2”, #2
- Playing “The Beginner’s Guide”
If you find the remaining posts convincing: yey! What I want to say is: Work with what you have, and you might be surprised. I’m not sure when I’m getting a better computer, so I thought I’d post this now while I’m still convincing.
PS: Specs for you computer nerds: Intel i3 M380, 4GB DDR3 RAM, Samsung 860 EVO 250GB SSD.
