Playing Minecraft, #1

Today I played some Minecraft! My friends and I started a new server on version 1.18 and I haven’t played since version 1.12 (2017). I’m excited to see what’s new in 1.18! I haven’t even read the release notes, so there should be at least a few surprises.

Reading “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?”, #2

Today I finished reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?.I definitely did not expect that first twist. I was just reading along and then I was like, “Woah, wait. Did that just happen? xD” Overall, an engaging read. Would recommend.

Reading “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?”, #1

Today I started reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. I like how it skips the deluge of names and unexplained references which sometimes overpower sci-fi intros. It’s approachable and I really appreciate that.

Playing “Getting Over It”, #3

Today I made it to the bucket! I was expecting the difficulty to go to 11 after the orange, but it’s like, not that bad? Maybe there’s an insurmountable obstacle up next. Now for the real question: to ride the snake or to not ride the snake?

Playing “Getting Over It”, #2

Today I played some more Getting Over It! I almost made it up the rocks just past the orange. I’m also getting much faster at chimney and the wall with the playground.

Playing “Getting Over It”, #1

Recently I’ve been playing Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy. I know it has a reputation for being a rage game or at least extremely polarizing, and that’s why I’m playing it. I also love the surrealist art style and the concept. Anyway, here’s some observations so far:

Grid view is here!

I feel like content discovery on the site isn’t that great right now. The main blog section has 23 pages and only 10 posts per page. I know I wouldn’t want to have to click the next page button 3 times just to glance at 40 posts. Grid view should help surface more content and…

Unscripted, #0

Today I took the day off my normal projects to just rest. Then I had the idea to make this a series. Not a continuous series like 30 Days of Watercolor or Learning C, but a collection of unplanned/ unscripted things. I notice with the content creators I follow that I’m interested in what they…

Mini Blender Renders, #3

Mini Blender Renders, #2

“I gaze down the aisle of storage units. Dandelions carpet the concrete. A cool breeze stirs them and lifts their essence of possibilities. I pick one. I blow the seeds and watch them twist in the current. Somewhere nearby, I hear a door slide open.”

Bubbles on TI-83 Plus, Pixel Art

Today I made a bubbles screensaver mock up for the TI-83 Plus.I have several TI-83 Plus calculators and I thought it’d be cool to run the bubbles screensaver on them. I would need to program everything from scratch and I don’t have a link cable yet. Additionally, it may look bad due to the display’s…

Discovering Neocities

Do you remember Geocities? It was a land before my time, but I recently discovered Neocities, a new web hosting service like Geocities. It’s so cool! Browsing websites on Neocities is a refreshing break from modern web design. Try my boring web design test on Neocities; almost none of them pass. I want to make…

NES Controller + retroUSB Review

TL;DR: The NES controller feels like how PICO-8 games were meant to be played and the retroUSB adapter is perfect. I recently played 100 PICO-8 games with my NES controller and I wanted to write a review. So here’s my review of the Nintendo Entertainment System controller (model NES-004E, 1991) and retroUSB adapter. Some background:…
