Summer ‘22, Day 40

Have you ever stayed behind

After everyone has gone?

Felt the bright air

Left in their wake?

Chairs, chairs, chairs

To return like ships to islands

And once they’re safe at shore:

Breathe the bright air

As it slowly dissipates
And settle into sleep

Summer ‘22, Day 39

Today I studied, played some Minecraft, and started reading Harry Potter. I’m about one third of the way through Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and I really like how the story keeps moving.

Summer ‘22, Day 38

Happy first official day of summer! I’m so glad I started my summer early because I wouldn’t have enough summertime otherwise. There’s so much I want to do, and with summer only now officially starting, I have time for everything. I should do this every year.

Summer ‘22, Day 37

Today I made a render in Blender while vibing to some good music.

Summer ‘22, Day 36

Today I chilled. I played some ping-pong, read for a bit, and listened to some music. I’m thinking a lot about making more art. I’ve probably made fewer art projects during the last month than any other month in the last year. Maybe I’ll try making some things just for fun.

Summer ‘22, Day 35

I bought AirPods. I love them. They’re literally amazing. Earlier I was studying in a noisy room full of people talking and I could concentrate. It’s like a switch to my own little world. The space outside my vision fades and the spotlight of my attention doesn’t stray.

Summer ‘22, Day 34

Today I drove a go-kart for the first time! Very fun, would recommend. It’s oddly freeing to drive with no mirrors.

Summer ‘22, Day 33

So I tried my friend’s AirPods and let me tell you: it was nothing short of magical. When I put the second AirPod in, the music started playing, and when I took it out, the music stopped! My friends were playing cards and talking and with the active noise cancellation on, I couldn’t hear them…

Summer ‘22, Day 32

Today I went swimming. Something cool: swimming to the bottom of the pool and floating up. Watching the bubbles rise. Breaking the surface. It feels very transcendent.

Summer ‘22, Day 31

Even as words inspire me, I grow tired of writing them. Is it because the wave of my words only crests softly while others crash and roar? Why am I doing this, writing little waves? Will I look up one day and discover a tsunami? And if I don’t, will perhaps one little wave of…

Summer ‘22, Day 30

Guess what? Today was another one of those days! I played ping-pong, checked out a bunch of library books, and generally had a great time 😄

Summer ‘22, Day 29

Today I had a great time hanging out with friends and playing ping-pong. I want more days like today.

Summer ‘22, Day 28

Today I started playing Stardew Valley and I’m loving it so far. The intro is perfect, the art style is perfect, the music is perfect; everything is so good. I’m playing on my iPad and I really like the 4:3 aspect ratio. It looks so big compared to 16:9.

Summer ’22, Day 27

I’m thinking about games I want to play. Here’s a list: Breath of the Wild, Manifold Garden, The Stanley Parable, Pikuniku, Chicory, Baba Is You, Hollow Knight, Celeste, Journey, Flower, ABZU, Stardew Valley, The Beginner’s Guide, and A Short Hike. Some of them I’ve already played, but I want to play again. I’m really interested…

Summer ’22, Day 26

Okay, what is this ;-; ? To me, it looks like a blank or slightly concerned face with raised hands, like “Woah there, easy.” Or maybe someone about to play the bongos deadpan. Is it supposed to be a sad face? Because I just can’t see it that way.

Summer ‘22, Day 25

I finished watching “Your Lie in April”. What words can do it justice? It’s a masterpiece, unforgettable, and very inspiring. These words are true, but they don’t do it justice. So does that convince you to give “Your Lie in April” a try? I hope it does.

Summer ‘22, Day 24

I’m enjoying watching “Erased” again. I really appreciate the story setup and it’s so good even the second time around.
